Behind the

DESIGN

My name is Hillary Muscatello, and I founded Tello & Rose in 2011 as a portfolio for fashion, home and recipes. In 2019, I started the Tello & Rose Instagram, quickly discovering that women all over the country were searching for a fresh take on classic style. Ever since, I have been committed to sharing lifestyle tips in easy ways that emphasize family and minimize perfection. I hope to encourage others to create beautifully classic homes and find their own unique style.

  • The meaning behind Tello and Rose is significant. I always dreamed of having a line of my own things so when I started a blog about homemaking life, I wanted something that could translate well to a product line. Tello is part of a family name and Rose is my middle name, passed down from my family.

  • I have been heavily influenced by nature my entire life. Growing up in the woods meant ant tea parties with acorns and leaves. Every family get together was adorned with weeds I scavenged from the yard. As I grew older, I became fond of the family trips to Ralph Lauren and Brooks Brothers. The warm wood stores and pretty floral arrangements inspiring my young mind while also reminding me of the home my mother and father worked tirelessly to create.

  • The question we always ponder…I know that God has directed my path because, as I look at all the seemingly random opportunities I had through blogging and work, they have all helped me get to where I am today.

I started blogging when I was in college for fun. It quickly morphed into a side hustle on Esty because I was buying too many vintage clothes. This helped land several jobs in design and marketing for Fortune 500 companies that brought real life, necessary experience.

All of this led me to handmaking and eventually producing product lines under the name Tello and Rose.

No matter where we go next, I know God’s hand is on everything I have been allowed to accomplish. I look forward to seeing where He will take us next.
